Since autumn last year, the lads oscillated between their home town and Budapest, the total of 18 matches (out of which 16 happened in Hungary) meant that they and their minibus was an extremely familiar sight at the border crossing...
Long weekend journeys, ten or so hours or more each way, were the prelude and aftermath of their matches - and what matches they were!
Our team and Crisul Oradea were the only teams from Transylvania, the others having been, as we mentioned before on this blog, the very creme of Budapest water polo, suppliers of talent to the polo world superpower Hungarian national team...
The aim for our (in many ways) young team was to gain experience, playing with these superb teams... but the team formed of the Junior II players and some of their younger colleagues put in a performance that truly exhilarated supporters.
Who can forget for example the solid win against the superb BVSC or the first match against the mighty KSI SE, when Aquasport's boys turned the situation upside down in the last minute, producing a victory that made the press... whilst the lads had to battle with extremely difficult training conditions prior to the inauguration of the new covered pool.
It all had many valuable lessons of all possible kinds for the lads, and the final act of the championship was a fantastic match and a win against Crisul Oradea last Saturday.
As we mentioned, with 5th place in an extremely tough list of ten teams, with 27 points from 9 wins being ahead of teams like Honved Budapest and Crisul Oradea, the team really deserves hefty congratulations.
After so many journeys, in the fullest sense of the word, the players and coach can reflect back on this and the regional championhip. After brief rest, life and work continues in the pool - as the national championship future rounds are on the horizon.
It was beautiful and inspirational lads! - and we must also thank everybody who helped and supported the team behind the scenes, organising and making all their journeys possible.
Din toamnă încoace, echipa a oscilat între orașul natal și Budapesta, cele 18 meciuri (din care 16 au avut loc la Budapesta) au însemnat că minibusul lor a fost o apariție regulată la hotarul între cele două țări...
Călătorii lungi, de câte zece ore sau mai mult în ambele direcții, constituiau preludiul și epilogul meciurilor... și ce de meciuri!
Aquasport și Crișul Oradea erau singurele echipe din Transilvania, celelalte fiind crema echipelor de polo din Budapesta, furnizori de talent pentru naționala Ungariei, o superputere în polo...
Obiectivul echipei din mai multe privințe tinere a fost câștigarea de experiență, jucând cu aceste echipe, dar jucătorii Junior II și colegii lor mai tineri au produs o performanță care a dus la extaz suporterii...
Cine poate uita de exemplu victoria solidă împotriva lui BVSC, sau primul meci cu superbul KSI SE, unde băieții au întors pe dos situația în ultimul minut, producând victorii care au ajuns și pe paginile presei... în timp ce se luptau cu condiții extrem de dificile de antrenament înainte de inaugurarea noului bazin acoperit.
Campionatul a produs multe ”lecții” de toate felurile pentru băieți, și actul final a fost un meci fantastic câștigat de ei împotrival echipei clubului Crișul Oradea sâmbăta trecută.
Cu locul cinci pe lista foarte dificilă de zece echipe, cu 27 de puncte după 9 victorii, clasându-se înaintea unor echipe ca Honved Budapesta și Crișul Oradea, echipa chiar merită enorme felicitări.
După atâtea călătorii în sensul cel mai complet al cuvântului, jucătorii și antrenorul pot să se reflecteze la acest campionat și la cel regional. După o mică pauză, munca continuă pentru că vin etapele următoare la campionatul național.
A fost foarte frumos și inspirațional, băieți! Totodată mulțumim tuturor celor care au ajutat și suportat echipa în spatele culiselor, organizând și făcând toate aceste călătorii posibile.
Ősz óta a csapat ingázott az otthon és Budapest között, az összesen 18 (ebből 16 Budapesten megrendezett) meccs azt is jelentette, hogy minibuszuk nagyon ismerős látvány volt a két ország közti határon...
Hosszú, mindkét irányban tíz vagy még több órás utazások voltak meccseik elő- és utójátékai... és micsoda meccsek voltak!
Aquasport és Crisul Nagyvárad voltak az egyedüli erdélyi csapatok e bajnokságon, a többiek a budapesti vízilabda krémjét képviselték, a poló világhatalomnak számító magyar válogatott utánpótló csapataiként.
A minden szempontból fiatal csapatunknak a célja tapasztalatszerzés volt, de az Ifi II-es játékosok és fiatalabb társaik olyan teljesítményt produkáltak amely a drukkereket eksztázisba lendítette.
Ki feledheti el például a BVSC elleni szolid győzelmet, vagy a szuper KSI SE csapata ellen vívott első meccsen az utolsó percben megfordított helyzetet és győzelmet, amely a sajtó oldalaira is került, főleg, hogy sokáig rendkívül nehéz körülmények között edzhettek csak, mielőtt felavatásra került az új fedett medence.
A bajnokság minden elképzelhető leckét hozott a srácoknak, és a finálé egy fantasztikus meccs volt múlt szombaton, ahol nyertek is a Crisul Nagyvárad ellen.
Ötödik helyen végezve egy rendkívül nehéz tizes listán, 27 ponttal 9 győzelem után és olyan csapatok elé helyezkedve, mint a Honvéd Budapest és Crisul Nagyvárad, mindenképpen hatalmas gratulációkat érdemelnek.
Ennyi, a szó minden értelmében vett utazás után a játékosok és edzőjük visszatekinthet a bajnokságra, kis pihenést is beszúrva - de folytatódik a kemény meló mert jönnek az országos bajnokság következő fordulói.
Rendkívül szép és sokakat inspiráló teljesítmény volt, fiúk! Ugyanakkor köszönetünket fejezzük ki mindazon kulissza mögötti szervezőnek és támogatónak is, akik lehetővé tették a számtalan utat.
